SIE Fund Task Force visits Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit
In view of the challenges posed by the ageing population, the SIE Fund launched its second flagship project, the Gerontechnology Platform, in January 2021, aiming to foster the development of the gerontechnology ecosystem in Hong Kong. While the project is making progress, the SIE Fund Task Force (Task Force) will stay tuned for the latest development of the sector.
On 4 November 2021, the Task Force visited the fifth Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit jointly hosted by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. More than 160 exhibitors showcase over 600 gerontechnology products and solutions, including 11 companies and organisations funded by the SIE Fund. Task Force members did not just learn about the latest trend and development of gerontechnology, they also exchanged views with exhibitors to understand the needs of the sector and different stakeholders, getting the SIE Fund prepared to further promote the development of the gerontechnology ecosystem.
