Douglas Woo
Chairman & Managing Director, Wheelock and Company Limited
Douglas Woo is Chairman and Managing Director of Wheelock and Company Limited, which is a listed property group with Hong Kong as its headquarters, and parent company of The Wharf (Holdings) and Wheelock Properties (Singapore).
Douglas studied architecture at Princeton University in the US where he attained a Bachelor degree, and was awarded an MBA by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He had worked in financial services firm UBS and real estate firm Hampton International in London before joining Wheelock Properties (Hong Kong) and Wharf Estates Development. He was appointed a Director and Managing Director of Wheelock in 2013 and became Chairman in 2014.
Douglas has a range of civic commitments, one of which is Patron of Project WeCan, a business-in-community initiative that was launched in 2011 by Wheelock-Wharf. The initiative is a partnership network that weaves together the expertise and strengths of businesses and institutions to assist local, lower-banding secondary schools and students who are disadvantaged in their learning. To date, Project WeCan is benefitting 50 secondary schools and over 42,000 students through partnership with 29 companies, 3 consulates, 3 universities and 1 professional group. |
