Training on media production for young people with special educational needs, persons with disability and people of diverse race

The venture aims to equip young people with special educational needs (SEN), persons with disability (PWDs) and people of diverse race with skills to work in the mainstream media production industry, especially in the fields of animation production and video shooting. Their finished works will be published through the SEN-themed online subscription channel “FamilyOnline.TV” operated by the project team.

The venture will run two cohorts, each with 15 target beneficiaries. After receiving the ten-class training, the trainees have to form small groups to produce themed animations and videos. They will receive allowance during their training and internships.

Eight of the trained beneficiaries will be selected to receive further training to be assistant tutors. Ten additional classes will be provided to improve their skills in materials editing, filming and teaching. They will also have opportunities to produce animation for business clients.

To raise public awareness, the venture will also publish contents related to SEN students and their families to their existing SEN community, such as experiences shared by SEN youth and their family members and interviews of professionals with expertise in SEN on FamilyOnline.TV.

The venture has received funding support from the SIE Fund for another prototype project.
