Organising events to help young people enhance awareness and capability to tackle mental health problems
Youngsters in Hong Kong are facing diverse degrees of mental burden and they often do not spend enough time or have insufficient support to take care of their mental well-being. Besides, there are misunderstanding and stigma towards mental illnesses among the general public.
In view of this, the venture aims to serve disadvantaged young adults aged 18 to 25 who may be isolated due to mental health problems caused by lack of opportunities or their living backgrounds.
Through "Naked Heart in the Dark" sessions, the venture provides "by the youth, for the youth" human library events that facilitate the public’s proper understanding of mental illnesses. The events can also enhance young people’s understanding towards mental health and comforting skills, as well as act as bridges to foster discussions among young people and encourage them to take heed of mental health problems.
