Cook-Fit Healthy Eating Program for South Asian Families

food, people of diverse race, Grant for Good

Providing cooking classes to people of diverse race to increase health awareness and reduce obesity risk

The venture will conduct a train-the-trainer programme for 20 family meal makers from diverse racial backgrounds. They will attend a comprehensive 10-hour training programme, covering nutrition knowledge, healthy meals preparation, art of recipe design and teaching skills. It is expected that at least 12 of them will pass the examination after the training and become official trainers under this project. The official trainers will then be responsible for conducting a total of 48 culturally tailored cooking classes with 180 participants.

The venture will also design and promote healthy culturally oriented food menus to restaurants, develop and disseminate 24 pieces of health and diet information in multiple languages through both online and offline platforms and organise cooking competitions to create an engaging, supportive, and culturally relevant network to improve health outcomes in the target community.
