Providing affordable caregiving services and mental support for the elderly, patients undergoing rehabilitation at home and patients with a new stoma
The venture provides affordable caregiving services and mental support to the elderly and patients undergoing rehabilitation at home, especially patients having newly undergone stoma surgery, aiming to address their needs for care after hospital discharge and help relieve the stress of their caregivers.
The team will provide on-site stoma bag changing services and skill training at patients’ homes, hoping that the patients could change stoma bags independently in the long run. Each participating patient will be entitled to eight home visits while additional five visits could be offered in case further assistance is required.
In addition, the project team will provide other personal caregiving services like bathing and diaper changing for the elderly and patients at a reasonable price. A concessionary price will be offered to patients with financial difficulties. Besides, district volunteers will be recruited and trained to provide other simple caregiving services for free, including escort services, to the elderly and patients after assessment by social worker.
