Providing training for parents of grassroots families to become facilitators of mindfulness stress relief workshops and holding workshops at schools
The venture aims to train parents of grassroots families to become facilitators of mindfulness stress relief workshops, and to create a positive and stress-free atmosphere and promote mental health at schools through the workshops. Each participating parent will receive three-month tutor training including four sessions on self-recognition and career-related skills (e.g. learning inner self, acquiring marketing and promotion knowledge); and ten sessions on stress relief techniques (e.g. mindfulness games, art-related stress relief activities), followed by a 10-hour practicum to assist or co-lead stress relief workshops. A practicum allowance will be provided and a certificate will be granted to the graduates upon completion of training.
The venture will provide 40 mindfulness stress relief workshops to 800 students from eight partner schools. It will also organise follow-up activities, including human libraries, mindfulness training for teachers, and parents’ talks, etc., at partner schools to raise the awareness of mental health issues.
