Providing children with autism and children from low-income families with Otamatone lessons
The venture aims to provide 12 children with autism and 20 children from low-income families with music therapy and education services through the use of Otamatone – a Japanese electronic musical instrument.
The venture provides 10 training sessions for each participating child to learn how to play Otamatone. Children with autism and children from low-income families will first have the lessons separately to cater for learners’ diversity. In six rehearsal sessions that follow, they will prepare together for performing in concerts that promote social inclusion. Children with outstanding performance will be selected to visit NGOs with their parents and perform there.
It is expected that 12 children with autism, 20 children from low-income families, and 40 parents will benefit.
