Patrick founded his own company in the flexible packaging business in China in 1992 and it grew into a leading player in the trade with a turnover of HK$1 billion in 15 years’ time. At the age of 50, he sold the business and started a new chapter in life in social entrepreneurship. In 2009 he brought the world-renowned Dialogue in the Dark (DiD) to Hong Kong. He continued with his business success when DiDHK quickly achieved financial sustainability without donation and government funding. In recent years he turned his focus to elderly service and in 2012 he established the Jade Club, a social enterprise specialised in elderly programmes with a sustainable business model.
