After retiring from senior executive posts, Dr KK Tse changed his field to social innovation and soon became one of the most renowned in the sector.
In a meet-up with Vivien Hutchison, a social entrepreneur in New Zealand, KK was introduced for the first time to the world of social innovation. He then pondered what could be done in Hong Kong to promote social entrepreneurship and social innovation. Through publications, he shared stories of entrepreneurship as well as his corporate management experience. Joined by other social innovators, he founded “Dialogue in the Dark”, a business success demonstrating that a social enterprise can survive and prosper without subsidies.
The establishment of “Education for Good” was another landmark of KK’s endeavour in promoting social entrepreneurship and social innovation. Providing training programmes and other support, the institution is a major player in inspiring and nurturing social entrepreneurs in Hong Kong.
