Following to taking office on 1st July 2018, the Task Force of the third term held its first meeting on 31 July. Before holding discussions on the work of the SIE Fund, members exchanged their views and expectations towards the Task Force and the Fund. Many insightful ideas were shared. With the extended membership and with members coming from a wider spectrum of social sectors, it is believed that the Task Force will be able to bring in more innovative ideas and support from the community.

Following the successful conclusion of the Sharing Session of the Stakeholder Engagement Programme, the SIE Fund organised four rounds of site visits in June 2018. Over 100 participants from 42 organisations evaluated first-hand the existing situation, challenges and opportunities of the application of gerontechnology in Hong Kong. Two sessions of workshops will be organised in July and August to brainstorm ideas and co-create solutions for shaping the scope and design of the future gerontechnology platform, as well as to explore the desirable outcome objectives to be attained by the platform.
